The most extensive solo exhibition in Italy by @jason_hendrik_hansma transforms Circolo UltraFiorucci into a liminal space where fire, memory, and time collide.
Hansma, who is also the Co-Director of @shimmer__shimmer in Rotterdam, presents “In Our Life (Embers)”, a large-scale video installation made in response to extreme weather events. Over several years, the artist gathered footage of wildfires documented by citizens and volunteer firefighters on social media, weaving it into a hypnotic film accompanied by a soundtrack by Belgian producer Ssaliva, drawing the viewer into an altered state of imagination.
The film is in dialogue with a new series of six wall-covering, large paintings, finalized in collaboration with traditional Italian gilding masters.
