Mikhail Ekadomov

Mikhail Ekadomov was born in Moscow in 1983. The documentary photographer is attracted to color in photography, particularly influenced by early photographers that were the first to experiment with color films. Ekadomov places the emphasis on photographs as graphic objects rather than conceptual meanings. The idea of photographs as graphic objects for Ekadomov fuctions contextually in reflecting its setting.

“These photos were taken in different countries and in different time. There are city views of Paris, Marine Pattaya, Moscow streets and a few still lifes which were made in Russia but they seem to me quite placeless.”
— Mikhail Ekadomov
“Documentary photography has always excited me as an evidence of the beauty of the surrounding world especially in its routine appearance rather than staged images. Thus, I have always tried to fix ordinary things and everyday objects around us.”
— Mikhail Ekadomov

The Russian photographer is now working on a photo series about social phenomena in Russia and post-Soviet regions and its surrounding reality. He currently works and lives in Moscow.
