For Italian NFT artist Common Need, the imagery of a toilet is one of irony and satirical commentary about how people’s perceptions of their subjective reality is affected by tendencies to compare themselves to what is encountered on upon swiping Instagram or TikTok. “It is the human reality that unites the rich and poor, the famous and common person. Everyone poops.. ” Can the toilet be an incidental reminder that we all bleed red and share the earth as one universal body?
