Mowalola opens first-ever pop-up in Berlin
To open a first pop-up store is to define a location without softening your edges. That’s exactly what Mowalola has done in Berlin during Fashion Week, taking over the P100 space under the INTERVENTION banner. The setup is temporary, but the impact is hard to miss.
Inside, past and future are brought together without sentimentality. Archive items sit alongside new work, including the first glimpse at her FW25 capsule. The textures feel familiar, vinyl, latex, leather, but the edit is sharp, decisive. Nothing here is decorative.
Mowalola Ogunlesi doesn’t dilute. Born in Nigeria, raised in London, her work never asks to be understood. It demands attention on its own terms. Gender, class, speed, sex, all surface with intent, never theatrics.
INTERVENTION by Reference Studios created the platform, but the atmosphere in P100 belongs to Mowalola alone. No slogans. No ceremony. Just a room that reflects what’s next, without asking for approval.
