Tora was first drawn to music by the audacious sincerity she found singers to have. This was due to their ability to translate their personal, raw emotion into something a listener can hear and recognise as their own,” she reflects.

”I was singing way before I started my own music but with everything, I just follow with that in mind.” When she sings she feels clear headed and bare.”

The East-London Native initially found herself taking inspiration from R&B icons such as Ciara and Destiny’s Child. She then found solace and a love of music in “Emancipation of Mimi” by Mariah Carey. Tora was later drawn to ingenious musicians like FKA Twigs, Frank Ocean, and Banks who have transformed the R&B genre.

Out now, the acclaimed vocalist's newest single, Serial,  is an ennuied reflection on real life. Soft, stunning, and soul-stirring, the song’s soft beats-driven production crescendos gradually to its more potent flow. Mellow and meditative vibrations combined with gentle beats transcend a single sound, conjuring acute sentiment. Accompanying woodwind samples and beautifully amalgamated harmonies cause the narrative of the beautifully composed piece to resonate profoundly. “Not here just for existence / I got lost there for a minute,” she sings on the track. “Serial is inspired by real life, I was very much over it and wanted it to be known,” the singer explains, also saying she wanted ‘Serial’ to be THE track after her EP, Cavalier, released June last year. Lucky for Tora, everything came together organically and with ease. She says, “Throughout the whole process I really trusted in the song as I could hear the potential from the bare bones, and seeing it come to life despite it all has been special.”

“Won’t say we were just waiting / For what lied in our fate / Bout two lessons away / From a teardrop tatt on my face,” the phenomenal lyricist vocalizes on Serial. Without a doubt, her ability to translate raw emotion into something conceivable is to tier with her musical muses.

Tora is the up-and-coming London talent you’ll want to keep your eye on. So what’s next for her?, “More,” she simply tells us. “I always try to keep myself busy and have loads of little song ideas floating around. I‘m excited to get working on new music and new visual Ideas.”
