Reimagining the classic trope of the “hero’s journey”, Federmesser utilizes her expertise in 3D scanning to create characters that are reminiscent of fragile, delicate strings of light. Pulling away from the suspected model of guardians at the gates of an unknown world, and the supernatural antagonists who aid the hero to his greater destiny; Federmesser cultivates an alternate storyline. “Wayfinders” was conceptualized and executed during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic during this summer, which posed a creative challenge in terms of collaboration. Elizaveta joined forces with young artists and designers who were new in the industry, bringing fresh perspectives to her narrative.
