Xander Zhou SS18

Xander Zhou’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection travels through various office aesthetics. Having taken cues from industrial workwear, Wall Street's tailored suits and Sci-Fi, Zhou creates a collection that is everything but a traditional workwear. Classic office looks are transformed into almost supernatural uniforms with abstract cut-outs full of shimmer. Futuristic textures are mixed with tailored skinny trousers, bold cropped jackets and coloured ties. Tie-dye shirts and accessories make an appearance.

Xander invites us to step into his office and to follow his 'Office Guidelines and Updates' protocol which suggests that undergarments are worn to be witnessed, approves changshan and Mao-style dress, and encourages his employees to decorate their bodies with totemic objects of the corporate worker. It also reminds the workers to avoid straining their eyes and to take regular breaks during which they should reflect on the fundamentals of our universe. The future of corpo-world is a place full of colour and oriental mysticism, according to Zhou.
