e to a visitor from another planet, a wry report from a world in disarray. The exhibition borrows her title and her tone. From 17 to 25 October, a studio on rue de Meaux opens its doors to sixteen artists brought together in response to the urgency of the present.
Each artist arrives with a distinct practice and a distinct world, and together they form a surprising constellation. Wars, crises and the wider turbulence of the moment run through the works as a shared backdrop. The voices stay individual, at times in open friction with one another, and the space gives each of them room to speak.
The show leaves visitors with a hopeful question: what if joy remains our strongest form of resistance? Over nine days, the answer takes shape in the work of Jonathas de Andrade, Christiane Pooley, Lyz Parayzo, Daniel Nicolaevsky, Constanza Piaggio, Marlon de Azambuja, Valentina Canseco, Gabriel Moraes Aquino, Isadora Soares Belletti, Andre Niemeyer, Pàulla Scàvazzini, Daniel Mattar, William Victorino, Manoela Medeiros, Wes Roque and Shinji Nagabe.
Five minutes on foot from Paris Internationale, the studio makes an easy stop between fair visits. Entry to the building is by phone, so keep the number below at hand on arrival.
