Gaudeamus Festival 2025 opens from 10 to 14 September with a programme that captures the restless energy of today’s most compelling contemporary music. Over five days, more than 45 concerts and interdisciplinary performances unfold alongside workshops, lectures, and the Gaudeamus Award. The line-up features newly commissioned works and bold collaborations: Zeno van den Broek with HIIIT and Percussions de Strasbourg, Thomas Azier’s singular vision, and the Quatuor Bozzini celebrating 25 years of fearless chamber performance. The Cello Octet joins forces with Nyokabi Kariūki and Nana Adjoa, while Het Muziek and Silbersee bring works by Berio and Karmit Fadel into sharp focus.
This 80th anniversary edition is less a retrospective than a statement of intent, reaffirming the festival’s role as a meeting ground for composers, performers, and audiences willing to step outside convention. Whether in intimate listening spaces or large-scale productions, the emphasis remains on immediacy, craft, and the shared intensity of live performance. Day tickets are now available, with an early bird rate for those ready to commit to an uncompromising programme that does not hesitate to confront and provoke.
