HYDRA — An Illusion of Abundance

An Illusion of Abundance is a multidisciplinary awareness project where art meets fashion to question ultra-fast fashion, overproduction, and contemporary consumption models. Bringing together fashion schools, artists, and the nonprofit Humana People to People Italia, the project unfolds as a city-wide, immersive journey across installations, exhibitions, talks, and live performances during Milan Fashion Week.

Developed by Simone Botte (Simon Cracker), Mira Wanderlust, and Luca MR, HYDRA uses the mythical creature as a metaphor for the self-replicating cycle of waste generated by fast fashion—inviting collective reflection on responsibility, sustainability, and new creative paradigms.

The project involves students from leading fashion institutions including IED Milano, NABA, Polimoda, MOODART, and Ferrari Fashion School, with installations displayed in Humana Vintage store windows across Milan until February 24.

The project culminates on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, with a public final event at MiArt Gallery, Via Brera 3, Milan.

Program highlights — February 25

  • 11AM–5PM: Exhibition of student works & live art performance by Mira W. Studio

  • From 5PM: Art exhibition by Mira W. Studio and Luca MR with participating schools, supported by Simon Cracker (charity sale in support of Humana)

  • From 6:30PM: Live music by Bastiano, followed by exhibition and cocktails

Part of the proceeds will support the Youth Academy project by DAPP Zambia, reinforcing HYDRA’s commitment to concrete social and environmental impact.

HYDRA proposes a future where art, fashion, and ethics converge—transforming creativity into a tool for cultural and systemic change.
