On Friday, March 13, Sigillum will be presented, a site specific happening that explores the relationship between sound, matter, and the vibrating object. The project was conceived during the residency of Roxy Ceron and developed in collaboration with musician Riccardo La Foresta and light designer Akasha.
The term, understood as a seal or imprint, refers to the idea of sound as a trace that leaves its mark on space, creating a temporary yet recognizable presence, similar to a ritual gesture of activation.
The project began as a study on the possibility of giving physical form to sound propagation through hand crafted materials capable of generating specific acoustic effects. Over time, the research expanded into a visual and sonic experience that integrates sculpture, light, design, and performance, creating an immersive environment.
At the center of the installation are three silver sculptures with organic morphologies, suspended from the ceiling by braided iron cables. Each sculpture contains a speaker and functions as an amplifier. Sound is not simply played but shaped by the material itself, emerging through openings and cavities designed to filter and transform it. The sculpture becomes an acoustic device, a resonant body that alters the perception of space.
