Presented by Zooming In Zooming Out, on Thursday 23rd April Associazione Barriera hosts the live show of one of the most distinctive artists investigating sonic worlds of voice and ambient poetics: Berlin-based Lithuanian artist, performer and producer Ugnė Uma. Her performances conjure an atmosphere which is Lynchian in texture: smoky, dimly lit, alive with a beautiful unease.

Ugnė Uma’s music draws from a wide palette of influences — soft R&B textures, house influences, detuned piano motifs and bedroom production —, weaving them into what feels both raw and soulful, but unmistakably her own. Last November, Ugne Uma unveiled her proper debut release on Glasgow label Somewhere Press, ‘Rage Love Strange Love / Someone Call Donna‘: a smouldering 7” that sold out instantly on Boomkat followed by a sold-out repress on Bandcamp. She also has previously been spotted working with saxophonist Sam Gendel in 2023 for a release on Meakusma, ‘Tam tikri objektai erdvėje’, exploring cosmic and inner space through improv.
