JUDASSIME SS26
Judassime’s SS26 collection imagines the world after trauma. Beyond clothing, Judassime functions as an empowering ecosystem. The brand cultivates a chosen family, a queer community spanning London, Paris, and Antwerp. Connection and collaboration form its foundation. Early projects, such as the 2021 debut with Parma Ham and Chad, demonstrated how mentorship and shared effort amplify artistic vision. Those who once inspired the designer now perform alongside the brand, reinforcing reciprocity and shared growth.
Could you tell us a bit about the collection and what inspired it?
The main inspiration was imagining a world after a traumatic experience. When you go through something so intense, there is an aftermath, a process of rebuilding yourself and finding protection. In that process, strength and fragility coexist, and that duality became the core of the collection. All the silhouettes were designed around the idea of navigating life after trauma, balancing resilience with vulnerability.
Where do you see the brand heading in the near future?
I want to build an empire rooted in power, one that gives everyone around me a sense of strength. I believe that in the queer community and in my circle, people need to reclaim their power. My own power lies in giving others that, offering hope and possibility, especially in Antwerp.
You have a really strong community around you. Is that something you’ve been cultivating over the years in your personal life?
It is the only thing that truly takes you away from reality. It is the family you choose, the most important family, a chosen family. It saves lives all over the world, and I think we need to acknowledge that and take care of our family. Most of this community lives between London and Paris, which creates a very special dynamic.
Has traveling regularly helped you connect with and grow your community over time?
Yes, definitely. My first project after my debut collection in 2021 was with Parma Ham from London and Chad. They really invited me in and gave me the opportunity to elevate myself. All the people I had been following and looking up to were also building alongside me in a way. It became a shared experience, and now many of them are part of my show, which is incredible.
What’s your impression of Paris? Do you connect with the energy of the city?
I love Paris. The energy here is incredible. Moving here has always been a dream, and for now, we’ll see how it goes. I just love walking around the city and feeling that passion in the air.
Looking ahead, what are your plans for the brand, and what can we expect to see next?
It is going to become more extreme each time. When the world is falling apart, art rises. I feel my work will continue to challenge conventions and confront what is considered normal in everyday life.
Finally, congratulations on the collection. It is amazing, and the finale was incredible. There is so much club culture in your work, a strong mix of fashion and music influences.
The performance was by Skemer, who is a friend of mine, along with Kim Peers and Mathieu. They are incredible performers, and I have shared stages with them everywhere. Now, having them perform the finale of my show was amazing. I love bringing performance art into the fashion world, something I feel has been missing.
