What is La Ropa and how did it begin?
If Backpages and Amazon had a baby it would be La Ropa. Not sure of the origins but La Ropa is Life.
There are a lot of Western elements (cowboy boots, guns, flags, eagles etc.) in many of your photos, where does this stem from?
Growing up in America that's all you know is guns, flags, and eagles. As for the boots that stems from rock n’ roll. But the boys (acc studio) gave me my first pair of boots, which were actually from the first La Ropa.
What makes a good photograph?
Anything.
When did you start taking photography seriously?
I worked for a real estate company a while back and I used to take photos to make listings for houses and the company was getting good feedback about their photos so I decided to use the camera for other things and eventually my father gave me the film camera he had used growing up.
What is your favourite thing about New York?
That's a hard one. I guess my favorite thing about New York is that you have to be in survival mode 100% of the time here. It makes you an animal in a way, but in a good way like you're hungry for better. It's a crazy mindset but I love it.
