'UFO – Unidentified Fluid Other' at NXT Museum

Discover 'UFO – Unidentified Fluid Other' at Nxt Museum, curated by Bogomir Doringer, starting June 11th. The exhibit takes over the entire museum, showcasing captivating multi-sensory installations that delve into our evolution in virtual realms.

As our global identity shifts post-pandemic and toward the metaverse, traditional norms are challenged. This exhibition explores how technology and societal changes let us shape fluid identities in open spaces.

Drawing inspiration from the surrealist movement, artists now embrace technology to transcend boundaries, just as their predecessors did in the past century.

The exhibit captures the transition to a digital era, as artists sense the dawn of our digital existence and developers create metaverses. People are preparing to venture into these spaces with new identities, free from old labels.

Diverse artists employ new media like augmented reality, fractal art, programming, and 3D sculpting. 'Viatrix,' an androgynous avatar, guides visitors through a thought-provoking videogame-like world by Lu Yang. Meanwhile, digital couture from The Fabricant transforms appearances, and Oseanworld offers kaleidoscopic landscapes to rediscover oneself.

“UFO – Unidentified Fluid Other’ investigates who we are becoming in virtual worlds”

Nxt Museum uses web3 technology to bridge the physical and digital, embedding POAP's (Proof Of Attendance Protocols) in the exhibit for visitors to collect. Additionally, the first NFT drop, available in the museum store, contributes to a fund for investing in new artwork and commissions.
