Artopia presents the exhibition Porous Kinship

  • Artopia, via Lazzaro Papi 2, Milano 2 Via Lazzaro Papi Milano, Lombardia, 20135 Italy (map)

The body, in the work gathered at Artopia this spring, is not a closed system. It absorbs, responds, and corresponds to the world around it. Porous Kinship, curated by Maddalena Iodice, makes this visible through the work of five artists operating across very different registers, and arriving, somehow, at the same essential understanding. Kesewa Aboah, Alberte Agerskov, Aléa Work, Dimitra Charamandas, and Diana Policarpo bring their distinct practices, painting, sculpture, video, into a conversation that feels necessary rather than constructed. The exhibition does not moralize. It observes. It finds resonance between the human form and the natural environment, and trusts the viewer to sit with what that means.

The opening takes place Thursday 19 March 2026, from 6 to 9 pm, at Artopia's space in via Lazzaro Papi 2, Porta Romana, Milan. Press are invited from 11 am. The exhibition runs through 8 May. To speak of ecology in an art context often risks abstraction. Porous Kinship avoids that trap by staying close to the body, its textures, its vulnerabilities, its affinities. Care and shared responsibility are not stated as themes so much as felt as conditions. This is work that knows the difference.
