New York marks the opening chapter of Terraforma EXO 2026 and its first edition in the United States. Presented in collaboration with @momaps1, the two day programme brings together live performances, listening sessions, film screenings, and conversations centred on the legacy of Wackies and its influence across reggae, dub, electronic music, and collective cultural memory.
On 24 July, MoMA PS1's Warm Up opens with a special Wackies showcase featuring Lloyd "Bullwackie" Barnes, Mark Ernestus, Claudette "Lovejoy" Brown, and Wayne Jarrett, alongside Carlos Souffront, TELESONIQ, and DJ Richard.
On 25 July, Bullwackie in New York (1985) is screened at @anthologyfilmarchives, followed by a conversation with Bullwackie, Mark Ernestus, Lovejoy Brown, Wayne Jarrett, and @negrolith, co curated as part of the @timesmovement cooperation project.
The weekend concludes with a DJ set by Arthur (Hard Wax) at @slamjam.
