Issey Miyake FW26
Issey Miyake Fall Winter 2026, designed by Satoshi Kondo, explored the idea of creation as a balance between intention and chance. Inspired by natural forms shaped over time, the collection proposed clothing that seemed almost unfinished, as if garments were still evolving while worn.
Structured elements appeared alongside fluid fabrics, creating tension between rigidity and movement. Sculptural bodices made from layered lacquered paper contrasted with soft textiles that draped and shifted with the body. Dresses expanded outward from shoulders or waists, while trousers wrapped asymmetrically around the leg, emphasizing the idea that clothing could develop organically around the wearer.
The collection also revisited the house’s signature pleating techniques, producing complex forms reminiscent of coral or fossil-like textures. Bright tones such as yellow, orange, and violet punctuated a more restrained palette, adding moments of energy within the contemplative atmosphere of the show.
Rather than pursuing perfection, Fall Winter 2026 embraced process, imperfection, and transformation, presenting fashion as an evolving dialogue between material, body, and time.
