John Lawrence Sullivan FW26
John Lawrence Sullivan made a powerful debut at Berlin Fashion Week with its Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, presented as part of the Berlin Contemporary program. Designer Arashi Yanagawa, a former professional boxer, infused the season with a raw sense of physicality, defiance, and control, drawing on his own past as well as the stark intensity of Scandinavian black metal culture. The result was a collection defined by strength, tension, and resistance.
Shown at the industrial Kraftwerk venue, the setting amplified the collection’s urban and confrontational energy. Outerwear led the narrative, with long leather coats, sharp tailored jackets, biker silhouettes, and over-the-knee boots forming a dominant visual language. The palette remained stark and restrained, moving through deep black, icy silver, white, and touches of camouflage.
Sculptural tailoring, exaggerated sleeves, and forward-leaning silhouettes created a posture that echoed boxing stances and punk attitude. Heavy leathers, melton wool, and defensive layers contrasted with transparent mesh and metallic accents, building a wardrobe that felt both armored and exposed.
