Orange Culture FW26
Orange Culture’s Autumn Winter 2026 collection, titled Backyards of Memory, stood out at Berlin Fashion Week as a deeply personal and emotionally grounded statement by Nigerian designer Adebayo Oke-Lawal. Rooted in childhood memories of his family’s backyard, the collection draws on a space associated with togetherness, warmth, and shared experience. Rather than responding to seasonal trends, the garments feel connected to memory, intimacy, and lived history.
Color, texture, and craftsmanship shape the narrative. Gender-fluid silhouettes move with the body through sculptural tailoring, hand-dyed fabrics, macramé, fringe details, hand-pleated trousers, and woven accessories. The palette reflects natural elements, sun-warmed tones, earth hues, and shades shaped by time and atmosphere, giving the collection a quiet emotional depth.
Collaboration plays a central role, with Lagos-based artisans contributing accessories including bags, footwear, belts, and jewelry. Together, these elements form a collection grounded in community, craft, and storytelling, where clothing becomes a vessel for memory, identity, and shared cultural experience.
