Heavily inspired by The Rose Of Versailles manga, the Moon Lake Serenade is a direct continuation from his previous collection. The first rococo-esque look sees the protagonist walking shoulder to shoulder with her military-clad lover whilst pushing a pram, with fabrics from the carriage identically matching the textures of her coat. Light streamed across the room through stained glass windows, making the feel as theatrical as ever, as the other ‘characters’ proceeded to enter.
More ethereal than kawaii; the rest of the looks featured elegant high neck ruffs, satin ribbon bows, luxury quilted coats, tiered cocktail dresses and feathered detailing. Accessories made in collaboration with Stephen Jones included oversized ear muffs and bear skin hats, majorly influenced by styles from Swan Lake. You could’ve easily worn any of the outfits to high tea or a royal wedding before dashing off an opulent club night, leaving nothing but a glass slipper behind on the night bus.
