Now going into her final year at Central Saint Martins, designer Stephanie Uhart shares some of her stunning latest creations. Shot by Javiera Eyzaguirre, the work was made in collaboration with talent from the Chilean industry, where Uhart is originally from. The vibrant pieces were used as an explorative process - as the young artist figures out their direction as a designer, with a focus on creating genderless garments that give space to allow for uniqueness and self expression. Her garments also put emphasis on recycling materials into handmade one-of-a-kind textiles.
Uhart said, ‘I put a lot of effort into making inclusive clothing in a sustainable way, and put great emphasis on recycling materials and incorporating them into hand made one-of-a-kind textiles as the base for the creation of my designs. I always want to create pieces that will be more permanent, like art, something that will not be tossed away so easily.’
