Shot on 35mm, Transmission is a spread of fragments from the ordinary life of Milano’s outskirts. Italy now stands in its worst condition in terms of politics, social welfare and wealth: no man is allowed to slightly acknowledge the deeper crisis - no jobs and no places friendly to youths except for ghettos and borderline areas. Three different kids attempt to communicate with concrete and nature, striving to survive this long arduous winter (they even grow their own veggies as they cannot afford supermarkets anymore).
Through the ready-made cult and acclaimed neo-neorealistic Italian production movies taking over Cannes or Venezia festivals along with the local issues of carefree pop fashion machines based in Italy, we’re trying to externalize how bad things are in the most genuine way, without any given instruments whatsoever. Our aim is, probably, a call for help in some way.
