The home, in NM3's understanding of it, is a sequence of quiet negotiations between objects and the people who live among them. CASA NM3, the Milan-based studio's installation at Via Carlo Farini 93 during Salone del Mobile 2026, makes that argument physical.
Four rooms, abstract and open, defined by mobile partitions rather than solid walls. The reference point is Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich's Velvet and Silk Café, an installation in which soft materials did the spatial work that architecture typically claims for itself. NM3 borrows the principle and applies it to the contemporary home: space as atmosphere, furniture as the element that gives it meaning without announcing itself.
The NM25 and NM26 storage systems, two pieces central to NM3's product language, appear here in a significantly expanded form. For the first time conceived explicitly as systems, they now carry doors and drawers, and support full modular customisation. From these anchors, a broader family of objects extends outward: new kitchens and desks that speak the same formal and constructive language, growing the range without diluting it.
NM3 builds everything from stainless steel, using laser cutting, bending, and dry assembly. The material stays untreated, its surface variations and natural marks left as evidence of process. Founded in Milan by Nicolò Ornaghi Francesco Zorzi and Delfino Sisto Legnani, the studio holds a consistent position: the ordinary, taken seriously, contains extraordinary possibility.
Three partners contribute objects from their own homes to the installation, placing the personal inside the architectural. cc-tapis rugs divide and define the floor of each room, giving each space its own identity.
