Missoni SS26
At Milan Fashion Week Alberto Caliri presented Missoni’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection with a clear intention: to adapt the house’s signature lightness for everyday life.
The show opened with a nod to the beach, then carried that atmosphere into an urban setting. Silhouettes grew shorter shorts, skirts, and bikini briefs frequently replaced trousers, while tailored jackets expanded at the shoulders and narrowed at the waist. The classic Missoni twinset appeared in a new guise, reimagined as a waistcoat paired with a sundress.
Caliri described his focus as responding to the market rather than dictating to it. The collection was built on versatility, a wardrobe that can shift across contexts while retaining Missoni’s distinctive pulse. The rhythmic play of knit textures and subtle patterns ensured continuity with the brand’s heritage, even as proportions were recalibrated.
Accessories reinforced the pragmatic but playful spirit. Soft ankle boots and flat shoes accompanied oversized jewelry, an array of bags, and berets that punctuated the looks without overwhelming them.
Missoni SS26 ultimately balanced contraction and expansion: shorter hemlines contrasted with broad shoulders, lightness of fabric met structure in cut. The result was a collection that felt both contemporary and grounded, reaffirming Missoni’s reputation for ease translated into the demands of the present.
