Walter Van Beirendonck FW26

Walter Van Beirendonck’s Fall Winter 2026 collection titled SCARE the CROW / SCARECROW, reflects a feeling of existing outside established systems. Rooted in Art Brut and Outsider Art, it draws strong influence from André Robillard, whose instinctive objects made from found materials inform the collection’s raw energy and directness. The spirit of childhood runs throughout: a state where expression is immediate, emotional, and unfiltered.

Garments move between toughness and sensitivity. Plastic forms referencing weapons appear alongside flowers, while detachable elements: birds, guns and blooms can be removed and repositioned, creating a language built on contrast. Knitted patterns recall war carpets, turning memory and conflict into visual texture. Tape is used not only as a functional material but also as a graphic tool, carrying marks, words, and traces of process.

Ideas of protection and exposure surface as covers become garments, shifting with the body in motion. Technical fabrics meet British wools, tonal palettes replace excess, and modular construction allows constant change. T-shirts ground the collection with direct messages, framing youth as honesty, resistance, and ongoing presence.
