Paula Canovas Del Vas Aw19
Central Saint Martins graduate Paula Canovas Del Vas’ latest collection reimagines the sixties era as a galactic dream, with a mixture of pop-art references and space-inspired shapes throughout.
Silhouettes are playful with an added element of tongue-in-cheek surrealism. Shapes range in the collection, from tight-fitting, oversexed latex pieces to bulbous, padded garments. A notable highlight is the top with comically pointed nipples. Del Vas’ plays with an array of textures, from shiny and smooth to furry and fringed.
The colour spectrum moves from pale blues and teals to bubblegum pink, highlighter orange and frosted mint. Hair and makeup are key, adding a vibrancy to the collection in bold colour-pops and slick-back styles.
Debuted at Paris Fashion Week, Paula Canovas Del Vas’ collection is a textural, multi-dimensional take on reimagined eras. It’s a tactile feat of design that is bound to excite the inner child in us all.
