Florentina Leitner SS27
On 4 January 2026, Florentina Leitner was at home in Antwerp, just back from Japan, when The Sound of Music came on television. It took her 29 years to see the film, far from her “Heimat”. The mountains, lakes and clothes of this Americanised Austria felt familiar and made her homesick. Every summer she returns to a friend’s family lake house in the same region where the film was shot. SS27 captures that feeling.
The title comes from a line in My Favorite Things, sung by Julie Andrews in the film. The collection is a personal Heimat: Austria as a collection of memories, made of places, people and small details.
Austrian traditional garments set the silhouettes. Lederhosen are reinterpreted in denim, and Dirndl blouses become tops with bow buttons. Three-dimensional bows and floral motifs appear throughout. The von Trapp children’s clothing, with its sailor collars and uniform-like cuts, is translated in a preppy and playful way. Gingham in blue, black and pink runs through the season alongside denim, silk satin and organza.
Leitner partners with Circ, a textile recycling company, whose denim and pink satin are used in the designs. Marie Jo returns as lingerie partner with floral and lace pieces in black, light blue, navy and white, and Heinrich Berkemann collaborates for the second time on a sandal with eyelet flowers and heart motifs.
The campaign was photographed in the Austrian Alps, with lingerie details showing under tops, Dirndl blouses, denim shorts and pleated skirts.
